Hard to believe that in my 22 years in Tucson I’ve never hiked to the top of Mt. Wrightson, a 9,456-foot peak in the Santa Rita Mountains within the Coronado National Forest, in southern Arizona. I went with a couple of experienced hikers, starting off from the Old Baldy trailhead at 9am. We reached the summit before noon, after 5.5 miles of steady climbing – about a 4000 foot elevation gain. Totally worth it – the views are amazing!
