Hi, my name is Kathleen Bober. I live in Tucson with my partner Alastair, whom I met dancing Argentine Tango in 1998. After 35 years as a freelance illustrator and producer in the computer game industry, I’m now retired, but staying busy and active, thoroughly enjoying Tucson’s year-round outdoor lifestyle!
Open water swimming is my main passion, but I also enjoy road cycling, running, yoga and hiking. I’ve been a volunteer at Oracle State Park over the past 15 years, serving as an interpretive guide with the park’s environmental education programs for kids, and doing trail maintenance. I also volunteer as a dog walker at Pima Animal Care Center. In the fall of 2017, I started working part-time at the University of Arizona, College of Medicine, with the Standardized Patient program.
Since 2010, I’ve competed in numerous swimming, cycling, running and triathlon events. I’m currently training for a 10k swim in Michigan in August and the Lake Powell Half Marathon in October.
